How are you coping with all the female attention you’ve had since BGT?
I get more female attention in an hour now than I’d had in my lifetime, and I’m loving it. The young fans are really sweet and excited when they ask for autographs, but some of the older fans say some pretty descriptive things of what they’d like to do to me. Too descriptive for a family magazine. It can be a bit scary but I laugh… though sometimes I feel like running. Ha ha.
What’s been your scariest fan encounter?
I once had a picture taken with a fan at the studios and the next day she gave me this photo album of ‘our life together’. She’d doctored the pics so, for example, there was one where I was wearing a tuxedo and we were getting married.
Who’s your fantasy Dirty Dancing partner?
Well I danced with Kelly Brook on Dirty Dancing The Time Of Your Life, but I’d love to dance with Cheryl Cole, she’s the hottest person in the UK. Eva Longoria is the hottest woman in the world. A Cheryl and Eva sandwich would be fun! I met Cheryl briefly – I was all shy and grumpy like a schoolboy. Not very sex god-like.
What’s the dodgiest chat-up line you’ve used?
It was for a bet, to see who could get slapped first. In a bar, I went up to a girl, asked for a glass of ice, dropped it, and said, ‘We’ve broken the ice, now let’s go back to the hotel’. She just laughed.
Most romantic thing you’ve ever done for your girlfriend Deborah?
We’d been seeing each other for a year but weren’t officially a couple. One weekend I whisked her to Dublin as a surprise and, in the hotel, while she was showering, I put rose petals on the floor and on the bed in the shape of a heart and asked if we could ‘make it official.’ I made it as difficult as possible for her to say no.
Are you vain?
No, but I’m conscious of what I look like cos I’m a dancer and like to feel happy with myself. I try to lift weights every day and do a power workout. I moisturise and I don’t want to get wrinkly eyes like my dad, so I use age-defying cream round the eyes. Botox? I’d never go that far.
If a dance role demanded it, would you go for the back, crack and sack?
Yeah, but I wouldn’t do it normally. I had my legs waxed for charity, that was painful enough.
